Our mission is to develop web based technology and promotional content that supports authors rights specifically the commercialization and registration of claims to copyright protected content created for use online or within virtual environments.

 

 

We intend to exert a progressive influence on the issues concerning authors control, access, renumeration and enforcement of their content within web based or virtual environments.

Our Purpose

 

The Purposes for which the Organization was formed are exclusively charitable, educational, literary, artistic, scientific, and cultural, including the support of users as intellectual property owners and the human rights of users, particularly in the context of online platforms and virtual environments; VIPO's mission is promoting user centric policies and practices concerning the use and development of virtual property including intellectual property rights protectable data; personality rights protectable data; and privacy rights protected data. VIPO implements its purpose and mission by performing research, designing technology systems, and managing international organization of users, platform account holders, domain name or website operators, and content creators.

 

To these ends, the Organization shall:

 

(a) Encourage the recognition of virtual property as personality rights protecable data and intellectual property rights protectable data that is created within or for use within virtual environments, such as Internet based websites, worlds, games, and the like, by organizing users globally; conducting lectures and seminars on the subject, as well as through publications, forums, and workshops;


(b) Exert a progressive influence on the issues concerning content creation, transfer, and labeling in web based or virtual environments;


(c) Maintain records of intellectual properties that relate to these purposes;


(d) Provide advisory support in the area of intellectual property rights; and


(e) Conduct any and all other activities as shall from time to time be found appropriate in connection with the foregoing and as are permitted by the Certificate of Incorporation of the Organization and lawful for a corporation which is organized under the Massachusetts Not-For-Profit
Corporation Law and is qualified as exempt from taxation under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or any successor provision thereto.

Our programs

 

The mission of VIPO is to exert a progressive influence on the issues surrounding registration, enforcement and policy in the area of virtual property.

 

We support a human individual author rights based framework for internet platform content publication, distribution and monetization.

 

We develop and promote human rights based perspectives of issues that are related to user generated content publication and distribution of including advocating for a human right to personality attributes such as name, image, voice and network.

 

We advocate for economic rights whcih support human creativity in the new economy including a right to safety, food, shelter, electricity, internet access, net neutrality, online dispute resolution and account recovery.

 

We fulfill these purposes through development and implementation of our programs.

 

The THREE TINY THINGS! program is focused on 1) promotes user rights as human rights 2) focuses on economic empowerment of internet users and 3) enables the organization of users as a global community.

 

Finally, the GET CREATIVE! program is focused on 1) promoting creation of original protectable content by individuals 2) economic empowerment of creators of original works through intellectual property rights and 3) performing knowledge transfer functions to support our technology projects involving virtual property management by inviting users to participate in our platform enabled ecosystem.

 

Our USER POLITIQUE program work develops content promoting policy matters related to international virtual property rights protection, management, and monetization trends affecting users.
